DOJ Refuses To Prosecute Trump Officials For Lying To Congress

The Biden Department of Justice has decided that they will NOT be pursuing charges against former Trump Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, even after the inspector general confirmed that Ross provided false testimony to Congress. The testimony in question was about the citizenship question that the Trump administration wanted to include in the census. For quite some time. Now the inspector general for the commerce department has been conducting an investigation and that investigation was trying to figure out if commerce secretary Wilbur Ross in 2019, during testimony to Congress on two separate occasions, lied about where the census question that the Trump administration wanted to include, uh, on the census about immigration, you know, where are you a citizen, or you not lied to Congress about where that question actually came from. The inspector General's report finally came out, not that long ago. And they determined, yep. Based on the emails, based on conversations and based on his own testimony, we can determine that he lied to Congress and we therefore turn this over to the Joe Biden department of justice for any further action. Last Thursday in a little noticed, move the Biden. DOJ announced. Yeah. We're not going to do a thing about this so long and farewell, Wilbur, Ross, hope you enjoy retirement because we're not going to hold you accountable for breaking the all law.

I don't care that it's a seemingly small crime, right? You, you're not allowed to go before Congress and lie. Okay. You swear an oath just like you were in court to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. So help you God and Wilbur Ross, according to this inspector General's report went before Congress on two separate occasions and lied his off about where that immigration question came for the census. He had said at the time it came from the DOJ, but emails that have also been released publicly revealed that Nope came directly from the Trump administration, uh, Ross and other officials at the commerce department were talking about it nonstop. And in fact, this political, uh, drive to put this question on the census is what actually calls the conservative leaning Supreme court to strike it down. So we know that Ross lied.

Two separate occasions and the Biden DOJ just says me, it's literally our job to, to, you know, prosecute criminals to, to weed out crime, to get rid of the bad guys here in the United States, but, uh, forget about it, right? What's it matter, no harm done. This was one of the biggest non scandal controversies of the Trump administration, trying to put this citizenship question on the census, because it would have driven down participation in blue leaning districts, which would have allowed Republicans at the state level to then come back, gerrymander those and create red districts. This was a big frigging deal. And Wilbur Ross lied about it. And this incompetent Biden department of justice says, we don't care.

Didn't hold anybody accountable thought, ah, we'll look forward. Not backward. I believe that that's a, you know, paraphrasing Eric Holder, they were going to look forward, not backwards. And then we all know what happened next because nobody got held accountable. The Republican party got worse, got so bad that it gave us people like Wilbur Ross coming from people like Donald friggin Trump. There is no excuse for the DOJs decision here. They have the report in their hand saying that Wilbur Ross broke the law. They have a duty to prosecute. Anything else is a miscarriage of justice at the hands of the Biden administration.
