4:36Now PlayingA new report has revealed that all is not well at Trump Tower in New York City, as many of the resident tenants and businesses are struggling to pay their rent. Many of the businesses are directly tied to the Trump family in one way or another, but they are suddenly finding themselves without the means to pay for their space. But there is one "tenant" that isn't having that problem at all, and it may be one of the only things keeping the Tower above water - and Farron Cousins explains exactly what's happening.

Donald Trump's beloved Trump tower in Manhattan is, uh, facing a bit of a problem right now. And that problem
Is that it is hemorrhaging tenants. And it's not
Just because he's so toxic. People don't want to be associated with it. Don't get me wrong. That's playing a huge role in it, according to a new report. But one of the bigger problems is that a lot of the, uh, shops that have called Trump tower home for so long can no longer afford to pay their rent. One of these includes a former company that had been making Ivanka Trump shoes before that was ended, uh, that now according to reports only has $40 in assets,
$40.
And so they are tens of thousands of dollars behind on their rent and likely to be kicked out. Another one is a company that made suits, uh, branded with Donald Trump's name
That is also struggling to stay alive here. They're also
Way behind on their rent, but don't worry. Folks. Donald Trump is still pulling in money from Trump tower because there is one tenant in that building that religiously without fail is paying their rent every month that comes due. And that is situated on the 15th floor. Donald Trump's very own make America. Great, great. Again, super pack. They're paying their rent. Religiously never fails because idiots across the country are still sending money to this pack that, uh, as best I can tell only exists to pay money to Donald Trump, right? I mean, are they doing anything else with the money and do the people sending money even care that this is what's happening here? It is according to the Washington post, starting in March, one of his committees make America great. Again, PAC paid $37,541 and 67 cents per month to rent office space on the 15th floor of Trump tower, a space previously rented by his campaign. Oh, so that's nice. So, you know, he just went from the campaign to the pack. So he been getting that money for, for quite some time. Now, um, also for several months, Trump's PAC paid the Trump organization $3,000 per month to rent a retail kiosk in the towers lobby,
Even though the lobby was closed to the public.
So in the lobby and a little kiosk for Trump's make America great again, PAC,
Um, that literally couldn't
Do anything because the lobby was closed, but it, they were still paying three grand a month
To be there. Can we drop the veil? Can we
Stop pretending that this make America great again, pack is anything other than Donald Trump raising money that he gets to legally put in his own pockets. Cause that's the real kicker here. Folks, none of this is illegal. None of this is even close to being illegal. This is all completely allowed. Trump can do with that money. What he wants to do as long as it's, you know, legitimate purposes and renting an office space, even at an exorbitant price in a building, nobody can access. That's a legitimate business expense for them. So they get to keep paying money. They get to help keep Trump tower alive as all these other people abandoned the building either because they can't afford it anymore because they were associated with Trump and now they're losing money or because they simply don't want to be associated with Trump. So they're leaving because again, that's the other piece of the puzzle here that the Washington post talks about. It's not just the people growing, uh, going broke.
It's also the people who say we want nothing to do with this. And I imagine
As time moves forward, if, if Trump needs to maybe the make America great again, PAC needs to expand. Maybe they need to take over the 14th floor and the 13th floor. Maybe he ups the rent to a million dollars a month. Who knows. All we know is that as long as people keep giving this PAC money,
He's going to use it to funnel
It back into his own pockets.
