Almost 80% Of Republicans Want Trump To Run Again In 2024

In spite of a dip in support from Republicans earlier this year, Donald Trump appears to have rebounded, as close to 80% of the Party now wants to see him run again in 2024. Trump DOES appear to be becoming more dangerous as a potential candidate, as most of the shock from his horrid administration has worn off. A strong backing from Republicans could be the push he needs to officially declare for the next cycle, as Farron Cousins explains.

According to a new Quinnipiac poll, almost 80% of Republicans here in the United States would like to see Donald Trump run for president again in 2024. Now it's almost 80%. The official number is 78%, but just a few months ago, folks, that number was 66%. It is now jumped 12 points in about four or five months. That is a huge jump in support for the former president. And I think a lot of this has to do with the fact that once Donald Trump left office, there's always that, you know, lingering horror of what the man did, but as the months tick by people, forget people move on. People kind of have a way of changing their own memories of how bad things were looking back and saying, well, maybe it wasn't all that bad. And that's why you do see these bumps that happen with George W. Bush. You know, his image has somehow been completely made over into being, not that bad, especially compared to Donald Trump, even though he was probably worse by most measures, but that's what's happening right now.

And this is exactly the kind of poll that Donald Trump needs to one boost his own confidence and two to possibly go ahead and throw his hat into the ring for 2020 for choking out any potential Republican challengers. So this is a dangerous, very bad news poll until of course you, you start looking at the other numbers. And the big number is 58% because that is the number of independents here in the United States who do not want to see Donald Trump run again. And those are the people let's be honest who are really going to decide the next presidential election. You're hardcore Democrats who well over 90% of them do not want Donald Trump to run again, are not going to vote for Trump no matter what, your hard hardcore Republicans who almost 80% want Trump to run again, they're going to vote for the Republican no matter what, it's those independents, right?

Those people who don't know where they stand on issues, uh, must be nice actually to be that way, I guess, to really have no strong feelings one way or another to not have to follow politics, right? But a majority of them say, no, no, we do not want Donald Trump to run again. So that's the part of the poll. That's really bad news for Donald Trump. You cannot win an election here in the United States. When you have a majority of independence who do not like you, and that's the problem that Donald Trump is facing now, but he's not going to focus on those numbers. As long as he has the Republican. He is likely to run again in 2024. Of course, assuming that he's, he's not in jail or otherwise unfit to run for president again. But I think another part of this is that we have to start taking a Trump run very seriously.

I know a couple months ago I had said, I'm not worried about Trump running again. I didn't think he was gonna run again. Uh, that's changed. I will happily admit that I've, I've changed my opinion on that. Definitely. And I think it's incredibly dangerous for Democrats. If Donald Trump does choose to run again, his base is going to feel emboldened. They're going to show up in greater numbers than they did in 2020 Democrats on the other hand. And this is why I'm actually scared of another Trump run. They've got to start delivering for the American public. And if they can't do that, which it's looking like, they're not going to be able to really do that. Then they're in trouble, not just in 2022, but beyond that, you know, we're watching in real time, this complete dysfunction of the democratic party, and those are things the public's going to remember because the Republicans are going to continue to hammer that into the American public.

In the next couple of elections, Democrats had the majority, they couldn't get anything done with it. And if they go to the public with that message, Trump stands a good shot of winning again in 2024. And we saw how messy his transition was this past time. Imagine what it would be like. He's not going to care about term limits. If he didn't care about the results of the actual election, the man's not going to care about term limits. If he runs again and wins, it's going to be even harder to get him out of that white house.
