DeSantis has not given any public addresses in the past 2 weeks, and the most recent tweets from his communications director have been lies about how well the state is doing on the COVID front. The seven day average of new COVID cases here in the state of Florida is 26,000. Over the weekend. We had a day where we hit almost 33,000 new COVID cases. Yet since December 17th, our Republican governor, Ron DeSantis has effectively gone. So island as Omicron ravages, the state of Florida as hospitals hit full capacity. Ron DeSantis, a potential 2024 Republican presidential candidate is nowhere to be found. And at least one mayor here in the state of Florida, orange county, Jerry dimings called DeSantis out for being missing an action as the state, once again, sees a massive surge in COVID cases, but let's be fair here. DeSantis. Hasn't been completely quiet. His, his spokesperson, Christina pshaw actually tweeted out. I believe it was last week. A chart showing that Florida, maybe it was two weeks ago showing that Florida wasn't experiencing any of the surge. In fact, the little, uh, uh, map that she tweeted out had only Florida not experiencing the surge in C cases that the rest of the country is also seeing.

Somehow Florida was spared on her little map. That of course was a complete and total lie. Florida is among the top states for O Macron cases. We are doing horrible. And our government is literally pretending that the problem doesn't exist. But this is of course par for the course with the DeSantis administration. They have been doing this to us here in the state of Florida, since the very beginning, no protections, no protocols, no safety measures, pushing alternative treatments, instead of encouraging people to get vaccinated and acting like, Hey, we're open for business and look how great are doing. We're not.

And the reason this is important, the reason this is in fact, a national story here is because DeSantis stands a good chance of running for president in 2024. And everybody needs to understand even Marjorie Taylor green tweeted out this way week about how, oh, Florida's so great. While New York and California are suffering. No you idiots. How about you take off the partisan blinders for half a second and look at what's actually happening down here more than 60 thou. In fact, I think we're actually closer to 70,000 dead Floridians from COVID nine. One of the worst per capita death rates here in the United States is right here in the state of Florida. Oh boo. You didn't shut down the economy. So that's good. People are dying. So corporations can make a profit.

I, I don't call that a win-win situation for the state of Florida. And y'all better hope you better hope that you get a handle on this because most of the people that you're sending to an early grave, those are your voters, Ron. I'm sure they'd love to hear from you right now. Now the, the ones that are still alive, of course, obviously the tens of thousands of dead Republicans, you know, they don't care what you say because they're not here anymore, but you're killing your constituents. You're killing your voters and you're missing an action. And I hope that more mayors here in the state of Florida and leaders from across the country, continue to call you out for ignoring the problem as your state. Once again, descends into hell.
