Sidney Powell Giving Financial Support To Oath Keepers Who Stormed The Capitol

Through the legal defense fund that she set up, Trump-loving lawyer Sidney Powell has been covering the legal fees for at least one member of the Oath Keepers who is facing charges for storming the Capitol on January 6th. The confirmed Oath Keeper receiving the money (to their lawyer) has been accused of seditious conspiracy, a very serious charge that could carry a multi-year prison sentence. Apparently Sidney Powell, the Trump loving attorney who is facing all sorts of legal problems on her own is also trying to help alleviate some of the legal problems of members of the Oathkeepers, who were arrested as part of the January 6th in correctionist. And it has now been that her legal defense organization called defending the Republic is paying the legal B uh, bills of at least one member of the oathkeeper that is, uh, facing charges by the way, for seditious conspiracy, a charge that typically carries a multiyear prison sentence. Let me read this. This is from raw story reporting on the original story from Buzzfeed. Here it is. The nonprofit has been making monthly payments to the defense attorney for Kelly megs, an Oathkeepers member who is charged with seditious conspiracy in relation to the capital riot Meg's attorney. Jonathan Mosley said he was aware of least three or four other defendants who have that arrangement as well.

Kelly Sorell said that one of those others is Oathkeepers founder Stewart, Rhode. So as we've actually hit on a couple times in the past SI Powell of course set up this group, defending the Republic has been taking in lots of Don for it. And for the longest time, people were wondering where the hell's the money going. You raised 15 million and nobody knew including the people that worked there and ended up quitting, cuz they thought it was part of a scam. They didn't know what the money was being spent on. They, they knew was coming in and going out. They were just, you know, very concerned as to what was happening. And as far as I know, I do believe there are investigations, um, or at least, uh, what Buzzfeed calls legal scrutiny from federal and state investigators. So they're examining the group, I guess you couldn't officially call it an exam, uh, or an investigation.

Excuse me. More like an examination. Just trying to make sure you're crossing your Ts and doting your eyes. And sure. I also understand no matter how much we despise people, no matter what they did, everybody in this country is constitutionally entitled to legal representation, right? So she's not doing anything by paying these bills. That is illegal. We may think it's unethical. We may think that it's disturbing that this individual, Sidney Powell that's fought so hard to overturn the election is in fact paying the legal bills of the people who sought to overturn the election by storming the capital for Donald Trump. So yeah, I mean super questionable, but again, totally not illegal. The real problem is where the hell's the rest of the money going, you know, you're, you're making payments

To these lawyers. Sure. That's great. That's good. That's fine. Nobody, uh, you know, can, can fault you for that. We can judge you for it, but we can't fault you for it. But where's the rest of the money. SI I think those state and federal examinations maybe need to kick it up a notch, right? When your own employees at defending the Republic kind of blew the whistle and said something doesn't add up here. That's usually the time when the state and federal regulators go from examining to investigating. And I think it's about time. We found out more about where the remainder of that fifth teen million is really going. If it's legitimately going to pay legal expenses for people, we don't like nothing we can do about that. But if it somehow has made its way into other people's pockets, then yeah, suddenly that takes on a whole new legal problem for SI Powell, but gotta wait for the results of these examinations to see if they go into full-blown investigations or if surprise, surprise. Maybe it goes nowhere. Maybe she's doing everything on the level. Given what we've seen from her over the last year though, personally, I don't think that's very likely.
