Ted Cruz Thinks Tucker Carlson's New Idea Is 'Dangerous As Hell'

Ted Cruz did something interesting this week and it was to basically publicly go against Tucker Carlson. Now, for the record, before I get into this, let's be clear. Uh, let's be clear. Excuse me. Uh, Cruz did not go on Carlson's show and call him out. And Cruz was not specifically asked about Carl comments from earlier in the week before he said that they were quote dangerous as hell. So now let me give you the entire story early this past week, Tucker Carlson goes on the air and says this, all right, jokes over too much is at stake. If there was ever a time, if there was an us history ever a time to invoke the 25th amendment, it is now as Joe Biden himself, put it for God's sakes. This man cannot remain in power for all of our sakes. So Carlson on the air called for using the 25th amendment to remove Joe Biden from power, uh, because he's old and he's, he's lost a couple of steps

And I guess Carlson that he can't manage his emotions properly. And so he should be removed from office. And boy, I gotta tell you, buddy, if that's your criteria, then you must have been asleep for the previous four years before Joe Biden became president of the United States. But anyway, on his podcast this week that he co-host with Michael Ted Cruz was asked by Knowles about the possibility of using the 25th amendment to remove Joe Biden. And here is what Ted Cruz had to say. There's no doubt he is diminished and diminished significantly due to age. I think the threshold for the 25th amendment is really high and it's part high when the voters were on notice of the impairment and elected him anyway. So I would be hesitant to go down that road of the 25th amendment. I think it's dangerous as hell.

All right, fair enough. And look, I have admitted as well. Joe Biden is not what he was five years ago. Sure. As hell is a, at what he was 10 years ago, he has gotten older and he's slowed down a bit, but I have never once suggested as these Republicans are doing that, there is any kind of actual impairment there. I still think Joe Biden is able to fully execute the duties of the being the president of the United States. You know, I'm huge fan of everything he's done as president. I, I would like to see somebody far more progressive in there. However, the criteria as Ted Cruz correctly points out for removing a president using the 25th amendment. It's really high and it's really high for a reason

It's that high so that we don't have inter administrative who's taking place to remove these people from office whenever they get annoyed with them. That's the point of it. It has to be strong. You have to have these protections. And I also do think it's kind of funny that nobody even cared about the 25th amendment. Hell, most people didn't even know what was in it prior to Donald Trump, of course, coming into office because Democrats started talking about it. Then heck members of Trump's own administration were talking about the 25th amendment on January 6th during the capital riot. And rightfully so, by the way, that course, you know, as Tucker Carlson said, if ever there was a moment, no, if ever there was a moment that was the moment like that day should have removed him from power, but they didn't cuz they were cowards. And instead they said, well, if I can't remove you, I'm gonna remove myself.

And I quit. Betsy DeVos of course is one of those people. But this was one of those rare moments of clarity for Ted Cruz, right? Like he could have easily scored some political points with his hardcore Republican base. If he had just said, oh heck yeah, we should go along with this. We should do the 25th amendment. He's he's dangerous. But he didn't of course he attacked Joe Biden, I think rather unfairly to a degree. It, he didn't go all the way. So the question I have that I, that I want answered is why you had nothing to lose Ted. You actually could have gained some Republican support. I'm sure there were members of your audience that were unhappy with hearing you say this. So could it be that Ted Cruz might not be as extreme? He likes to pretend he is. Is he still trying to play the middle every now and then?
