Trump Could Be Fined $10,000 A Day Following Contempt Charges In New York

If the court goes along with the charges, Trump would be fined, retroactively, $10,000 PER DAY that he has failed to produce the documents after being ordered to do so. At the end of this week, New York attorney general Leticia, James filed a motion with courts in the state of New York, trying to get Donald Trump officially held in contempt for continuing to refuse, to turn over documents to these investigators that the courts had actually ordered him to turn over quite time ago. And if the courts do in fact, move forward with the contempt charges against Donald Trump, he would be fined $10,000 per day that he does not turn over those documents. Now Trump and his lawyers had argued in court and of course the court did not go with this agreement. Uh that we cannot give these to Leticia James, because she doesn't really want them for her investigation. She probably just wants them to work in conjunction with that criminal investigation taking place down there in Manhattan, you know, and these would probably be bad for that.

That's what's so funny to me. And like I said, the judge didn't go along with that reasoning, but you are saying that you're not gonna give her the documents because you don't want those documents to end up being used in a criminal investigation against you. So what's in the documents, right? I mean, isn't, isn't that the question we should all be asking now, if you're worried that these documents are going to somehow lead to you being criminally indicted, um, isn't that all the more reason why the investigators should have them, obviously not according to you but according to the investigators, the, yeah, I would probably use that as an argument against them. And it is like, we always see with Donald Trump, you don't hide. If you don't have something to hide. I mean, guy hit his college transcripts, his tax returns, all his financial documents, documents from his white house, tried to flush him down the toilet.

this guy does nothing but hide things because obviously there's either some damning or embarrassing information in the documents that this guy has been destroying and covering up throughout his entire life. Okay. This is not a new thing, not something that developed when he became president, he's always done this. This is who he is, and this is how he operates. But the fact of the matter is that he was ordered by a court to turn over these documents. And if he doesn't do it, he's facing fines of up to $10,000 per day, forcing Trump to part with the thing in this world that he loves more than anything, which is money. But if you ask me the $10,000 a day is stupid, right? I, I don't think Donald Trump should be fine. $10,000 per day, I think. And this is actually something the court is able to do.

I think you arrest him and you hold him in jail until he turns the documents over. You see what happens if you or I get held in contempt of court. Most of the time is that you get to go spend a few hours cooling off in jail to you're ready to comply till you've, you know, calmed down and you can do whatever it is or you've paid fines, yada, Y all kinds of things. They'll go throw you in, you know, county jail, sometimes little local jail cells, whatever it is, we don't get the option of just, ah, just keep not complying. Maybe we'll find you. Maybe we won't who the hell knows, cuz everything's crazy when you're dealing with rich people. So no, I do not think Trump should be fined. I think they should hold him in contempt and hold him in jail until he hands over those documents that the court told him to hand over quite some time ago.
