Steve Bannon Panics As Trump's Georgia Candidate Goes Down In Flames

Trump ally Steve Bannon is in full panic mode now that a new poll shows that David Perdue, the man that Donald Trump persuaded to run against Georgia governor Brian Kemp, is trailing by nearly 30 points. Bannon wants answers as to why this is happening, but the answers have been right in front of our faces for well over a year now. Farron Cousins explains exactly why Perdue(and Trump) are failing.

Steve Bannon is furious folks. He is furious about what is happening right now in the state of Georgia. He's mad at Republicans and darn it. He's mad because they're not doing what Donald Trump wants them to do late last week on his war room podcast, Steve Bannon, while talking to a guest David bossy, who happens to be a right wing operative. Exclaimed, why is Purdue 27 points down on Kemp? Talking of course about the handpicked candidate that Donald Trump has sent to primary George's Republican governor Brian Kemp. And that is of course, David Purdue. Trump is the person who ended up persuading Purdue to step into this race after losing his Senate reelection bid last year, you know, the voters already rejected him once. So yeah, why not put him in a Republican primary super smart idea by the way, and as Bannon points out, the latest polling shows that Purdue is trailing 7%, 27 points below Kemp.

So yeah, not going so well. And in fact, this is an even bigger failure for Donald Trump, not just cuz he convinced per Purdue to run and has of course endorsed Kemp and relentlessly attack. Uh, excuse me, endorsed. Perue convinced Purdue to run he's attacked Kemp. And the only money that Donald Trump has spent from his massive campaign, other than spending it on himself, he has spent a couple hundred thousand dollars, I think $500,000 to fund attack ads against Brian Kemp in the state of Georgia. So Trump is actually spending money, which is something he hates to do To hype up David Purdue. And it's not working in Georgia.

That's a pretty damning thing that's happening right now. And that of course is why Steve Bannon is so off. And his guess, as I mentioned, David boss, he is sitting there. He is like, well, Purdue hadn't run a good campaign and he's not really attacking Kemp, you know, for not overturning the election for Trump and for the record, by the way, that is the only critique that Trump and all his little friends have of Brian Kemp. He didn't overturn the state's election results in give it to Trump, which of course, by the way, wouldn't have even made you win. You still would've lost in 2020. Even if Brian Kemp said, Hey, look, I know it's illegal, but me and Rothenberg are here. We're gonna overthrow the results of the election. We're gonna give you our electors. All right, illegal as hell. And Trump still doesn't win.

Everybody screwed at that point by I, it would've made no sense for them to do this is what I'm saying. And they understood that. So they didn't do it. But what they did do in response to that was enact one of the most sweeping voter suppression laws in the country. They helped kickstart that last year. And of course it was then copycatted by multiple other red states, Florida, Texas, trying to get it up in, uh, you know, the Midwest right now too. These Republicans are. So yeah, Brian Kemp has been a good loyal Republican. All he didn't do was illegally toss out the results of, of the 2020 election. That is the only critique they have of him. And it's a critique that apparently is not shared with Republican voters in the state of Georgia. But what it could happen here, I can't even say it's likely to happen, but what could happen is if people like Steve Bannon, people like Donald Trump continue to go out there and attack Kemp, relentlessly, and then Kemp eventually wins that primary, which is 100% going to happen.

You're gonna have a lot of angry mega voters in the state of Georgia that aren't gonna vote for Kemp in the general. They're either gonna stay home. They're gonna skip that on the ballot right in somebody else, whatever it is, that's gonna boost Stacy Abrams and Stacy Abrams almost won in 2018 Kemp who was secretary of state. I've explained it a thousand times, ended up purging enough people from the voter rolls that made up the difference. So he ended up winning Abrams as strong Abrams, as popular Kemp. If he continues to get attacked by Donald Trump and, and all these other mega hat wearing folks Kempson real trouble, who cruise to an easy primary victory, but the damage will have been done and it could lead to Stacy Abrams being the next governor of the state of Georgia.
