Josh Hawley Ripped To Shreds By His Hometown Newspaper

Republican Senator Josh Hawley from Missouri is once again getting hammered by the editorial board of the Kansas City Star - one of the biggest papers in Missouri - for being a "laughingstock" for the state. The paper had gone after him last year, too, slamming him as a "phony" for pushing Trump's election lies. Farron Cousins explains why the paper is growing more and more tired of Hawley's behavior.

Republican Senator Josh Hawley got torched by hometown newspaper, the Kansas city star in the great state of Missouri for his cowardice that he exemplified on January 6th. And of course the editorial board of this paper is referring to the video that came out from last week's prime time hearing of the January 6th committee that showed Josh Holly running like a chicken. And I don't mean figuratively. I'm talking about literally running like the animal, a chicken across the hallway to get out of harm's way. Of course, this was after he gave that fist that I stand with you to, these would be capital riots at the time. And then his scene running like a barnyard animal away from the actual danger, the people that he was standing with, that he was showing his solidarity, terrified him when he thought nobody was looking. So of course the paper torched him where they said things like shame clearly is not a motivating factor for any number of Republicans still caught up in Trump world, watching Holly racing away from the capital invader struck so many people as blackly hilarious saluting the Trump posse was politically expeditious for him before the siege began.

Whereas that fist in the air now, where indeed is it now, Holly? Well, Josh Holly of course, has gotten on social media in the days since that video emerged. And re-upped the mug that he is selling through his campaign store website. That again, shows him with that fist up. So Josh Holly is actually trying to capitalize off of this. He's he's tried to raise money on it. And when he sent out that tweet just a couple days ago, he did the little kissy face emoji as in, you know, stay mad haters. Look at me, nah, it's not gonna work, bud. When you've got your own hometown newspapers, right? When they're starting to attack you on their editorial boards, which by the way, this was not the only paper in the state of Missouri that went after Holly for this. You also had the St. Louis post dispatch, um, on Friday said Holly's run encapsulated his core cowardice and quote demonstrated beyond any doubt that Holly understood in real time, the physical danger.

He helped unco that day when they're all going after you. And they're all pretty much saying the same thing that you're a coward, that you're a fraud that you're a complete phony as one of these editorial boards had to do. Uh, last year, you pretty much know that they've got your number. See Josh Holly, like so many Republicans loves to talk a big game, loves to pretend that he's going out there. The biggest, the baddest, the hardest, most meanest you've ever seen. But at the end of the day, when the real danger emerges, he runs away

Because he is in fact, a coward. He is very afraid of the people that he again gave that fist to. I don't know if you would necessarily call that instigated them because you know, that is a legally charged word and we don't want to get in trouble. But I would say that he, he wanted to show that he was one of them or at least that he was with them, or maybe even that he supported them. I don't know exactly what he was trying to do, but when those people showed their true colors, he ran away and never did come out to condemn them either. Did he? Nope. Tried to capitalize that again, put his face with the fist on a mug, selling it to people, showing that yes, he supported these people and he's still pushing it today. But Holly, like so many other Republicans is nothing more than a coward. They put on a brave face for their supporters. They put on this big mean macho persona only for them to repeatedly show themselves to be some of the biggest cowards that the United States Congress, Senate has ever had to see. That is who these Republicans really are.
