As investigators begin to close in on Donald Trump from all sides, the twice impeached former President has begun teasing another presidential run to distract everyone from what he's facing. In a lengthy series of posts on his failing Truth Social site, Trump sent out multiple article screenshots calling for him to run for President as soon as possible. This is pure distraction, as Farron Cousins explains.

Donald Trump is desperately trying to distract the public from whether or not, uh, you know, he is gonna end up in prison. So he took to truth social recently and fired off just a, a tweet after tweet. I know they're called truths. I hate saying that because they're not truth. So I'm gonna call 'em tweets. If we can all just agree that we know they're not, but I'm gonna call 'em that anyway. So he fires off all these tweets, right? Rapid succession, highlighting different articles from from some websites and periodicals. I've never even heard of basically saying I'm running for president. So let me go through the list of things that Donald Trump tweeted out. The first one was from, from a website called American thinker with the headline that read Donald Trump must be the 2024 Republican nominee. The second one was from CNN said Trump fields calls from Republican allies to speed up 2024 bid after FBI raid. The third is from town hall.com, which used to be a very important Republican website. I think they're kind of the bargain bin of these days. It said the Washington establishment fears a second term, Trump.

Okay. There's a couple more, but let me stop right there for just a moment. Town hall, nobody, nobody in DC fears, a Trump second term. Can we stop with all your nonsensical BS of we're gonna drain we'll swamp. You, you are the swamp like town hall. You're the swamp too. all your little idiots that you got out there all across the country. Y'all are the swamp. You've been establishment Republicans for so long. So stop trying to act like, oh, these were establishment Republicans. Who do you think you are? the fourth one. Once again from the American thinker says history is calling Donald Trump. Yeah. History is calling Donald Trump saying, Hey, your history, that might be the weakest joke I've ever told. I am so sorry, folks. Then a fifth one also from American thinker. this was a screenshot of a headline that simply said Trump is running.

So is that a declaration from Donald Trump that you are running? You shared a screenshot. That's what he did with all these. They weren't links. They were screenshots of the headlines, but you shared a graphic that said Trump is running your Trump. You shared something that said Trump is running. Now, is that an official declaration? If I'm at the, uh, federal elections commission, I'm gonna say, yes, you shared an image that said Trump is running. There would be no difference. If you had shared an image that you had created announcing your presidential run. And the reason I say, you know, the federal elections commission is because that is the body that has to be in charge of all the rules

Of somebody running for president. And if Trump is running for president, then suddenly all the laws change about what he has to report and how much he can spend and how much he can raise. If he's not running. Those limits are basically out the window. If he is running, not only did the limits come back into play, but he also has to report every single penny that his campaign spins. And it has to be on a legitimate political event. So if I'm the FEC, I'm looking at that and I'm saying, dude, this guy just declared. He declared he 100% declared. Now it's time to enforce the law. And if he doesn't abide, we press charges simple as that. So that's of course, you know, the FEC should do that. They probably won't cuz they don't do anything about anything. But what Trump is trying to do here is obviously distract from literally everything taking place, right?

Like I said, the DOJ, the DOJ, cuz there's two different DOJ investigations with grand jury, the Fulton county grand jury, the January 6th committee, the New York investigation, the upcoming Southern district of New York, the IRS investigation, the lawsuits, all of that stuff, all of the walls in quite literally every way are closing in on him. So what does he do? Distraction. Right? I'm ready for president. I'm gonna run for president. I'm gonna run for president. Look at all these truths tweets I'm seating. I'm sending out to everybody. It's a distraction method to get the media, to start talking about something else.
