Donald Trump has freely admitted in social media posts and even in rally speeches that he took documents from The White House. And legal experts are absolutely baffled by the fact that he keeps incriminating himself with statements that will absolutely be used against him in court. At some point his own lawyers are going to have to give him an ultimatum to either shut up or go it alone, and Farron Cousins explains why that hasn't already happened.

If you're a federal prosecutor going after Donald Trump, and I actually know, I mean, there's a lot of you out there, so there's probably a good chance somebody watching this is a prosecutor going after Trump. But if you are a prosecutor going after Trump, you've gotta feel pretty good about your chances, right? You gotta feel like you got a good airtight case no matter what your case is, whichever one you're working on, whether it's the January 6th stuff, whether it's the fake electors, whether it's the Georgia one, whether it's any of the other lawsuits that he's facing. And the reason you probably feel pretty good about chances is because Donald Trump continues to talk and every time he opens his mouth, he seems to implicate himself further by pretty much admitting guilt, which of course, as we all know, is exactly what happened a week ago and the week before that, and before that, and before that, when Donald Trump, again freely admitted on truth social, that, yeah, I took the documents, but other people did too.

So it's totally okay. Even though other people did not, they actually did what they were supposed to. They, they filed the paperwork, they went through the National Archives. National Archives, helped him out. That's how you do it. Trump didn't do any of that. He rebuffed the National Archives when they requested the documents back for a year before the FBI went to Malago. But he continuously gets on truth social or goes out there and speaks at a rally and admits that he took the things. Sometimes he says it's okay because the other presidents did it, even though again, they didn't. Sometimes he says it's okay because he declassified them. But the point is, the taking of the documents, classified or not, is a crime in and of itself. If they are classified, then you know, you're looking at even deeper felonies. But a violation of the Presidential Records Act does, if a conviction is secured, come with a lifetime ban on running for office again.

So no matter which way you're looking at it, you've admitted to something that can prevent you from ever holding office in the United States again, plus send you to jail for three years. Now, prosecutors, former prosecutors out there, legal experts are remaining baffled, baffled by the fact that Donald Trump is still out there again every week admitting that he did it. Like he doesn't need, we don't need the special prosecutor. Hell, regular TV attorney could come on and do this. You know, the people out there standing on top of the semis saying, Hey, call me. I'm your lawyer. They could handle this. That's how easy this case is, because the guy has admitted to it repeatedly. His, his lawyers have not reigned him in. Now, we understand a lot of Donald Trump's lawyers basically took him on as a client, agreed to represent him because it means fame. I mean, Alina Haba, she hasn't been as much recently because she's facing her own legal problems at this point with the sanctions she's been hit with by some judges. Um, she was on TV almost every day. She was becoming a household name. She was becoming Trump famous, right? Same thing with some of his other lawyers who of course have also backed off a little bit on the TV appearances, but they took him on because they thought it would be great for their careers. Maybe they want to get into conservative media. Maybe they wanna represent more big name clients. Whatever it is, it's not working anymore because your client is going out there and implicating himself further in criminal activity.

So at some point, you're gonna have to put away the cameras and sit down and talk to this man and tell him, as his lawyer, you have to make a choice. Either you shut the hell up or you watch me walk away. That is the ultimatum that Trump's lawyers should be giving him.
