Judge Brutally Takes Down Trump's Lawyers Before Hitting Them With Sanctions

Donald Trump's lawyers got a brutal reality check from a federal judge this week when the judge ran through a list of ways to tell if a lawsuit filed by Trump is "frivolous" before hitting them with sanctions of nearly $1 million. This was over the lawsuit Trump filed against Hillary Clinton which had been thrown out of court a while ago, but the judge wanted Trump's lawyers to pay a price for bringing it to court in the first place. At the end of this week, a federal judge in the state of Florida, judge Donald Middlebrooks brutally smacked down Donald Trump's entire legal team before hitting them with nearly 1 million in sanctions for filing a frivolous and basically fictitious lawsuit in his court. Now, the lawsuit was originally dismissed in September, and this of course was the lawsuit that Donald Trump had filed against Hillary Clinton, the D N c, uh, F B I agents, like a bunch of different people, alleging that because they attacked him over the Russia, Russias Russia thing, they somehow defamed him even though he won that election anyway, because the electoral college. So the whole thing was shaky to begin with, and that is exactly what Judge Middlebrooks had to say again before hitting the lawyers with $938,000 worth of sanctions. Here's what he said, and I love it because he actually lays out a list of things he says that people can use to determine if a lawsuit filed by Donald Trump is frivolous.

Here it is. This case should never have been brought. It's inadequacy as a legal claim was evident from the start, no reasonable lawyer would've filed it intended for a political purpose. None of the counts of the amended complaint stated a cognizable legal claim. 31 individuals and entities were needlessly harmed in order to dishonestly advance a political narrative. A continuing pattern of misuse of the courts by Mr. Trump and his lawyers undermines the rule of law, portrays judges as partisans and diverts resources from those who have suffered actual legal harm. The behavior is not unique, but part of a plan or at least a playbook. And the judge identified those patterns from that playbook as follows, provocative and boastful rhetoric in the lawsuits, a political narrative carried over for from rallies, attacks on political opponents and the news media disregard for legal principles and precedent and fundraising and payments to lawyers from political action committees when a ruling is adverse.

Accusations of bias on the part of the judges often while the litigation is ongoing. And we've seen that, right? We've seen Donald Trump attack the judges. We've seen him attack the prosecutors. We've seen him attack the agencies that they work for every time. He doesn't get his way. But here's where things get interesting. Back in September when the case was dismissed, Alina Haba went on Fox News, of course, to talk to Sean Hannity. And here is what she said about the lawsuit. At the time, the former president looked at me and he told me, you know what a Elena, you're not going to win. You can't

Win. Just get rid of it. Don't do the case. And I said, no, we have to fight. You see that admission, Alina was real dumb, probably even dumber than you filing the lawsuit to begin with because what you just did was you admitted again back in September after the case had been dismissed, that even your client said, don't do it. That there's no way to win this thing. Please get rid of the lawsuit. So if what you were saying right there on Sean Hannity's program is true, then yeah, the judge actually should have hit you with even bigger sanctions. If your own client told you to drop the suit and you didn't, that might actually be grounds for legal malpractice. That might be grounds for losing your law license in the state of Florida. Of course, maybe you were just lying, maybe you were just trying to make yourself look better.

Who knows the truth? But at least as of now, you're gonna have to pay, uh, close to a million dollars you and the rest of the legal team because you filed this lawsuit that as the judge said, any reasonable lawyer would've known better. And again, this is just yet another lesson for Donald Trump's lawyer's current and present and future, cuz listen up guys. This is what happens. They just got sanctioned in New York, or they're about to get sanctioned in New York, excuse me. Now they just got sanctioned in Florida. They've been sanctioned in other states.
