Conservative Judge Thinks Pence Is Embarrassing Himself By Defying DOJ Subpoena

A retired conservative judge that has served as a bit of a mentor to former Vice President Mike Pence has written an op-ed for The New York Times saying that Pence is setting himself up for embarrassment if he defies the subpoena from the DOJ. The former judge, Michael Luttig, is the one Pence consulted about whether or not he should object to the 2020 election results, so it isn't some stranger calling out Pence. A retired conservative judge who has, by the way, served as a bit of a mentor for Mike Pence in the past, has now written an op-ed for the New York Times blasting former Vice President Mike Pence over his idiotic refusal to comply with a subpoena from Special Prosecutor Jack Smith. And before I read a little bit of what Mr. Uh, uh, judge Michael Luk had to say, that's the judge. I need to point out that this is not just some random conservative judge who thinks Mike Pence is making a mistake. This is the man that Mike Pence personally consulted with about whether or not he should object to the electoral college votes from the 2020 election. This is the man who Mike Pence reached out to and said, Mike, it's Mike. What do I do? They want me to do this legally, you know, politically help me out here.

What can I do? What can I not do? And Judge Lugg told him, don't freaking do it, man. You can't do it. You're, you're gonna get creamed if you do so. So this is a guy Mike Pence trusts, and he comes out with this op-ed in the New York Times, and he says this, the former vice president should not want the embarrassing spectacle of the Supreme Court compelling him to appear before a grand jury in Washington, just when he's starting his campaign for the presidency. So there, there's a good indication that this guy who knows Mike Pence is like, yeah, he's running for president. So, you know, kind of skipping over that part a bit, that has to be an uncomfortable prospect from Mr. Pence, not to mention a potentially damaging one for a man who, at least as of today, is considered by many of us across the political spectrum, to be a profile and courage for his refusal to join in the attempt to overturn the 2020 election in the face of Donald Trump's demands.

If Mr. Pence's lawyers or advisors have told him that it will take the federal court's months and months or longer to decide his claim and that he will never have to testify before the grand jury, they're mistaken. We can expect the federal courts to make short shrift of this Hail Mary claim. And Mr. Pence doesn't have a chance in the world of winning his case in any federal court and avoiding testifying before the grand jury. Now, he also pointed out something that I have been saying for about two weeks now, ever since it was revealed that Pence was gonna fight this. He says that Pence is obviously fighting this, you know, for the optics of it to kind of try to gain some support from the MAGA crowd. Like, Hey, I'm not rolling over. They're gonna have to force me to do it. Exactly what I've been saying. Like, I I, I love that this is now pointed out by a guy who knows Mike Pence, a guy who has advised Mike Pence and he sees the exact same thing I do. You know, that, that I I,

That's like personal validation. I love it. It makes me feel good cuz it's like, okay, I am on the right track because I'm not the only one who sees this. Mike Pence is only fighting the subpoena because one, he thinks he can delay it to the point where her Neva have to testify. Uh, LUT lays out like, Nope, they're gonna do it quickly and you're gonna have to, and you're gonna look like an idiot. Two, these maga freaks aren't gonna love you anyway. The, these are the same people that were walking around the Capitol chanting, hang Mike Pence. They don't like you and they never will. It doesn't matter what you do. Even if Trump came out and endorsed you, they wouldn't rally behind you, so you lost them. Move on. Thirdly, you as far as we know, didn't do anything wrong. So you have no reason to fight the subpoena other than of course the optics of the politics of it. You are not in trouble like one time you do the right thing and now you're trying to do the wrong thing by not continuing to do the right thing. None of it makes any sense. But if anybody can talk any sense into Pence, apparently it is lu egg. So hopefully Pence takes this to heart, drops his idiotic, um embarrassing appeal and just gets on with it. Cuz the sooner he gets on with it, the sooner the DOJ can move on with their investigation.
