New reports have confirmed that former Trump chief of staff Mark Meadows has testified in front of Jack Smith's grand jury, and Meadow's lawyer issued an ominous statement about Meadows being legally obligated to "tell the truth." This likely explains Donald Trump's recent meltdown on Truth Social, as Meadows is the one person who knows EVERYTHING about Trump's involvement in the scheme to overturn the election. Farron Cousins explains what this means.

Well, folks, it appears to be official. Now, according to multiple different news outlets who have confirmed this with multiple different people connected to the Grand jury investigation into Donald Trump, it appears that his former chief of staff, Mark Meadows, has indeed been talking with the grand jury. This is probably the biggest, uh, confirmation, I guess you would say that we have had throughout this entire investigation. Now, reports have been out there for, for weeks that Meadows has in fact talked to the grand jury, but this is the first time it has officially been confirmed that yes, Meadows has talked to the grand jury, and based on a statement from Meadow's own lawyer, things might not be looking so good for Donald Trump. Here is what Meadow's Lawyer told the press without commenting on whether or not Mr. Meadows has testified before the grand Jury or in any other proceeding, eh, see, that's, that's the little kind of thing you flag there. Mr. Meadows has maintained a commitment to tell the truth where he has a legal obligation to do so.

So Mark, Mark Meadows only tells the truth when he is like legally required to tell the truth. Um, not a great statement, definitely, uh, especially because it does imp, implies that when he's not legally obliged to do so, Mark Meadows does not tell the truth that that's actually what that statement means. So you just admitted Mark Meadow's lawyer that yeah, if he's not under oath, dude lies all the time. So that's a really stupid admission. But the admission you did make that he's legally obligated to tell the truth, of course, is damaging to Donald Trump. And the fact that you brought up any other proceeding too, ooh, may, maybe you could have just left that part out, right? I mean, I know you're not saying he did or didn't, but nobody was thinking of any other proceedings until you just now brought that up. And the fact that you brought it up kind of implicates meadows and testifying in other possible proceedings.

So again, as far as statements from lawyers go, that's like on the level of Trump lawyers stupid. But it is enough, of course to make Donald Trump freak out. And Donald Trump has been freaking out all week about the ongoing special prosecutor investigations. Obviously, he had a lot to say. Monday, Tuesday seemed to be freaking out a little bit more than usual, which I talked about yesterday. And now we know why. It's because he now knows, and it has been confirmed that Mark Meadows, the guy at the center of all of these Trump scandals, including the document scandal, Mark Meadows is working with these people, and his lawyer says he's telling the truth because he's legally

Required to tell the truth. That's horrible for Donald Trump. Now, what I did not know, by the way, was that Meadows was also involved in the document scandal. Obviously the attempts to overturn the 2020 election, Mark Meadows was at the heart of it. Well, Trump was at the heart of it, but eh, let's call Mike Meadows the uh, uh, uh, left ventricle, right? He's part of the heart, but he's not like the whole thing, so he's just a ventricle. But everything that Trump wanted done flowed through Mark Meadows. So Mark Meadows knows everything that was done, everything that was discussed, and of course, all of the other major players involved in the attempts to overturn the election. So that's why that's so damaging to Trump on that front. But on the documents case, again, which I had not known until now, Meadows was actually Donald Trump's liaison, if you will, to the National Archives.

Like he was the guy, the National Archives was saying like, Hey, uh, before you guys leave the White House, make sure you make sure you don't take any documents with you. Like that was Mark Meadows too. So he's right there at the center of all of that, and he knows if Trump was like, yeah, just go ahead and box it up, ignore the National Archives. So it doesn't matter which investigation this is that Mark Meadows is testifying in, whether it's the documents or overturning the election, we don't have confirmation that it's, you know, which one it is. It's probably both.
