Judge Tanya Chutkan agreed to not place sanctions on Donald Trump during a hearing last Friday, but made it clear that she'd be watching what he says and could alter the trial schedule based on his comments. It is no surprise then that Trump spent the entire weekend trashing this judge on his Truth Social platform, trying to paint her as a biased hack instead of a respected and fair judge. This will come back to bite Trump worse than he thinks, as Farron Cousins explains.

So as we all know, last Friday, Donald Trump had a hearing that he did not personally attend, but his lawyers did, along with the Department of Justice in front of Judge Tanya Chut. And the hearing was about a proposed protective order that the D o J had requested that would effectively slap a gag order on Donald Trump, prevent him from talking about the judge, the prosecutors, the case, any of it just shut him the hell up. Prosecutors wanted because he is basically engaging in dangerous behavior with the statements he's making that are threatening the judge and of course, engaging in potential witness intimidation. Now, unfortunately, the judge only sided with the witness intimidation part said Donald Trump cannot call out potential witnesses specifically. But other than that, there's really no gag order to speak of. There is, as I said, part of the protective order, but it's so mild that, eh, not a big deal, right?

And Donald Trump took that apparently as permission to go out there and say whatever the hell he wants about whoever the hell he wants, whenever the hell he wants. Because he immediately over the weekend, and of course on Monday, started going after the judge yourself. Donald Trump put repeated posts on truth social, all filled with lies. Uh, one of them claiming that she admitted that she's engaging in election interference. Uh, another one, Trump said, she obviously wants me behind bars, very biased and unfair because somebody had posted in one of her rulings for the Capitol rioters that, Hey, you put blind loyalty in a guy for one day, uh, who by the way remains free to this day. And Trump said, well, obviously she wants me behind bars. So Trump's been attacking the judge. The judge had the opportunity to put this to bed and didn't do it.

But here's the thing. The judge did put a separate part of her decision out there and basically told Donald Trump's lawyers that you don't get him in line. He keeps doing what he's doing and saying the things he's saying, then I will have no choice but to go ahead and kind of grant the prosecutor's request for a very early trial. So the judge, I do still kind of disagree with the ruling, but I talked about this over at Ring of Fire. She said, A trap for Donald Trump and Trump being a complete idiot, walked right into it. That's what these posts are telling us. Trump, his lawyers either didn't tell him, which we know they had to have, or two, he's too stupid to actually listen to these people because he's now out there attacking this judge, relentlessly attacking her with known lies. And the judge is just sitting back like, you don't play this game. We'll play this game. I'm letting you nail your own coffin shut. You dug your own grave. Now you're nailing your coffin shut. Because all I have

To do is be like, all right, fine. You know what? You wanna attack me? You wanna put me in danger? I've already had to get added security. So I'm just gonna say to get this thing over as quickly as possible, we're gonna have a very early trial. Prosecution wants it to start on January 2nd. I think that's too long to wait. How about October 2nd? Hell, how about September 2nd? How about tomorrow? What are you doing tomorrow, Donald? Oh, you're probably being arraigned in Georgia any minute. So we'll let that happen first. But this judge has the authority to do that. Now she's obviously not gonna put it one to two months out, but I do think this thing is going to start in January, and I do think that it is 100% because the judge set a trap for Trump and being the idiot that he is, he's walking right into it.
