4:29Now PlayingFox News appears to be coming to grips with the fact that Donald Trump could end up in jail before the end of this year, and they are trying to cushion the blow for their audience. During a segment this week, a Fox co-host even optimistically suggested that Trump could still serve as President from jail - which is technically true, yet theoretically impossible to pull off. Farron Cousins explains why Fox is now going this route.

Fox News is apparently trying to prepare their audience for the reality that Donald Trump could end up in jail before the end of this year, possibly even before the 2024 presidential election, during an episode of Outnumbered this Week. Where, uh, panelist Dr. Jeanette, uh, Nashwa, uh, I know I'm pronouncing that incorrectly. My apologies on that. But anyway, this guest on Outnumbered was asked the question like, what happens if he's indicted at some point talking about Trump, ignoring the fact that he's already been indicted on 91 counts? They asked the question, what if Trump is indicted as if it hasn't already happened four separate times? And the good doctor said he can be president from jail if he has to. Republicans are still rallying around Donald Trump.
So, so there's your silver lining Republicans like, don't worry about the 91 felony charges against him. He can totally still be president from jail. That's the message that Fox News sent out this week. You know, Trump's lawyers right now, and I talked about this over the weekend, they're trying to downplay the charges that he's facing, like his lawyer, Christina Bob actually, you know, said, uh, the people like, don't think that he's got all these legal problems, like, don't worry about it. And now Fox News is out there telling us, you know, a couple days later, like, oh, don't, don't worry about it. He could still just be president from jail, as if any world leader is going to take the United States seriously when the president of our country is sitting in a jail cell. Now, of course, it's possible. Technically, what the doctor said here is not wrong at all.
Donald Trump can 100% be president from jail. Now, here's the thing. If he's in jail on federal charges, he'll just pardon himself and boom, he's free. But he can't do that. In Georgia where he stands, the probably strongest likelihood of being convicted and sent to jail, he can't even be pardoned In Georgia, they would literally have to rewrite the laws of the state, which honestly they would probably do in order to pardon him. But there would still be a period of time before they get that legislation written where Trump would be president from a jail cell, which means the Oval Office would have a little metal toilet off to the side, a little metal sink and a mirror, you know, possibly bunk beds, maybe. Maybe he has a cellmate. I don't know. Maybe that person could be his chief of staff, who knows? But it's possible. Not only is it possible there at this point, is a non-zero chance that it could happen. Like that's the reality we are living in here in the United States in the year 2024,
The man who according to the polls is the front runner to be the next president of the United States, could be in jail at the start of his term, instead of having a big grand inauguration at the Capitol, his inauguration might be in prison. That's a thing that could happen. Do you realize how crazy that is that we as a country are at that point and that Fox News is trying to rationalize it being like, oh, don't worry. He can totally do it from jail. Like, what are other world leaders gonna do when they have to come and make their diplomatic visits? Or they gonna have to wear their little name badge to go into the jail to talk to our president? I mean, honestly, folks, I want y'all to think about that reality because it could happen. Like this is not farfetched either. There's a good chance this could happen. So maybe keep that in mind as this year progresses. Is that the kind of country you want? Where visiting world leaders have to get special clearance in a little name badge to visit our president who's sitting in a Georgia prison? It could happen, and Fox News seems totally okay with that idea. Hi everyone. This here is Little Athena. And Athena would like to know why you haven't subscribed to Fair and Balanced yet.
