Prices on almost everything for American consumers are going up since Donald Trump took office, with the exception being gasoline. Energy costs, food costs, and all other products are rising, with tariffs expected to drive those costs even higher. Nevertheless, one of Trump's economic advisors, Kevin Hassett, said this week that all prices for consumers are down across the board, and that people should be thankful to Trump for that. In other words, you have to deny reality in order to remain happy in this country, as Farron Cousins explains.
