1:52Now PlayingThe second-ever state championship tournament for the Michigan Girls High School #FlagFootball League, hosted by the Detroit Lions and presented by Head & Shoulders and Meijer, took place this Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7. The 2026 season featured a 4-week regular season and culminated with the top 15 teams competing in the single-elimination championship tournament to lift the trophy Sunday night.
The St. Joseph Bears defended their title and were named the champions for the second year in a row. St. Joseph bested Gibraltar Carlson 28-12 during a competitive finals matchup. St. Joseph is coached by Matt Koch.
The semifinals games earlier in the day featured a 64-0 win by St. Joseph over Goodrich and a 19-0 win by Gibraltar Carlson against L’Anse Creuse North.
