The showdown in Texas, however, looks far from over. How this plays out will likely determine which party controls Congress after next year's midterm elections. Fox News correspondent Rebekah Castor has the latest.

To no one's surprise, the Texas House, once again, did not have enough attendance, Monday (8/11), for lawmakers to vote on a new congressional map. That's because Democrats have fled to blue states, like Illinois, to prevent Republicans from gaining more seats.
PLESA says: "Let me be perfectly clear. Texas Democrats are not running away from any fight. We're bringing the fight to the bad guys."
The democratic lawmakers plan to drag this out no matter how long it takes, even as the governor threatens arrests.
Abbott says: "If they show back up in the state of Texas, they will be arrested and taken to the Capitol. If they want to evade that arrest, they're gonna have to stay outside of the state of Texas for literally years."
And Governor Greg Abbott means it. He's posting wanted posters on social media, the FBI is involved, and there's even a tip line for people to call if they know the whereabouts of an MIA lawmaker.
Garcia says: "None of us have committed a crime, yet, we are public enemy number one to the FBI."
California governor Gavin Newsom is calling on President Trump to call off the GOP redistricting efforts.
Newsom says: "Hey, President Trump. It's time to stand down."
If not, Newsom says California — and other states — will redraw their maps to offset the additional GOP seats.
Newsom says: "We're not gonna sit back and watch you light democracy on fire."
This redistricting drama is also keeping Texas lawmakers from passing crucial legislation to strengthen the state's emergency response after deadly floods last month. In Washington, Rebekah Castor, Fox News.
