At LaGuardia Airport, FOX 5’s Brianna Tomasetti reports that more than 140 flights were canceled Monday — the highest number nationwide — and while conditions are slightly improving, travelers are still facing uncertainty.
U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg says air traffic controllers could begin returning to work 24–48 hours after the government reopens, but warns that full recovery will take time.
Meanwhile, some passengers are turning to Westchester County Airport, where flights have been largely unaffected.
