For decades, first responder Paul Jockimo spent his career helping others—never realizing how much help he needed himself.

After years of trauma, depression, anxiety, and PTSD, Paul found healing through Astro, a service dog trained by America’s VetDogs to keep him calm and grounded. Now, Paul says he’s becoming a better version of himself—not just for his family, but for the people he supports through peer counseling.

At the same time, Army veteran Bill Jones is beginning a new chapter with his service dog Tosh, trained to help him with daily tasks and alert loved ones in emergencies.

This graduating class from America’s VetDogs includes veterans and first responders whose lives are being transformed—one dog at a time.
