3:11Now PlayingThe flower of the holidays is ready for the spotlight. Poinsettias are in full bloom and on store shelves. Bachman’s grows 60,000 of the bright red flower and many varieties in its greenhouses just south of the Twin Cities metro, in Farmington. The flower is native to Mexico and has some strict growing conditions including a period of darkness in September and consistently warm temperatures in the 60s and 70s, no drafts allowed. Once the poinsettias are out of the greenhouses the garden company will begin growing hydrangeas for the summer.
