Terrifying moment paraglider hits telephone wires, plummets into river

A paraglider's terrifying crash into the Red River was caught on camera after striking a power line on July 8.

Grand Forks resident Dusty Howlett filmed the dramatic incident, showing the electric paramotor sparking upon impact before the paraglider plunged into the water.

Howlett, who was walking nearby, reported the pilot was waving and talking from the river until emergency crews arrived. The paraglider was pulled from the water uninjured.
