The severe weather, including heavy rain, hail, and wind gusts up to 70 mph, caused numerous trees to fall and blocked roads across the state. Xcel Energy reported over 140,000 customers in the Twin Cities metro area lost power, with full restoration for some potentially extending until Thursday.
Crews are working to restore service, with more than 2,000 personnel deployed across Minnesota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin to address the extensive damage.
