0:32Now PlayingA black bear in northern Wisconsin was successfully freed from a plastic jar that had been stuck on its head. The young bear, weighing 70 pounds, had been tracked for nearly 50 miles across Bayfield, Douglas and Sawyer counties. Wildlife officials with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Wildlife Services were able to sedate the animal and safely remove the jar. The bear was not injured and was released in an area with a plentiful food source to recover.
