1:28Now PlayingThe DFL has revoked its endorsement of Sen. Omar Fateh for Minneapolis mayor following a challenge from Mayor Jacob Frey.
The DFL’s Constitution, Bylaws & Rules Committee found “substantial failures” in the voting process at the July convention, which led to the initial endorsement of Fateh. As a result, the Minneapolis DFL is prohibited from holding another mayoral endorsing convention in 2025.
Both campaigns have commented on the decision, with Frey expressing his satisfaction with the outcome and Fateh's campaign stating that they believe the move is an attempt to "disenfranchise thousands of Minneapolis caucus-goers."
