1:28Now PlayingA Minnesota family has filed a federal wrongful death lawsuit against local law enforcement and the county jail over the death of a man who suffered a massive stroke while in custody.
Kingsley Bimpong, 50, of Cottage Grove, was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated on Nov. 16, 2024, after Eagan police observed him driving into oncoming traffic. He was taken to the police station and later the Dakota County Jail, where his condition rapidly deteriorated, according to court filings.
Surveillance images included in the lawsuit allegedly show Bimpong collapsing in his cell before finally being transported to a hospital, where he died three days later.
