1:01Now PlayingNine sled dogs are recovering after a crash on a Minnesota interstate split their trailer in half.
The incident occurred Saturday morning on icy Interstate 494 near Minnetonka as the Silent Run Adventures team was traveling for an event. The trailer, carrying the nine huskies, tipped over and separated after the driver hit a slick patch. Good Samaritans and first responders helped rescue the animals, one of whom briefly got loose before being secured.
The dogs were examined by a veterinarian, are being monitored for trauma and internal injuries, and are reported to be almost in the clear. The owners said their custom $14,000 trailer was a total loss.
