2:07Now PlayingFederal agents and demonstrators clashed during a tense ICE operation that drew a large crowd of protesters.
The confrontation in Minneapolis on Monday, Dec. 15, reportedly began when agents attempted to remove individuals from a vehicle near Karmel Mall. Video footage from the scene shows agents handcuffing a person at the intersection of Pillsbury Avenue and West 29th Street while officers used spray to disperse demonstrators.
The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office stated deputies arrived to assist federal agents in leaving the scene and said they witnessed no physical attacks on law enforcement.
“Upon arrival, our deputies did not witness any attacks or any agents needing medical attention. There was a crowd blocking federal agents from leaving and our deputies helped federal agents leave the scene,” the sheriff’s office reported.
