1:12Now PlayingLawmakers attempted Monday to interview Ghislaine Maxwell, but the former girlfriend and confidante of Jeffrey Epstein invoked her Fifth Amendment rights and refused to answer questions.
Rep. Jasmine Crockett said that lawmakers will continue investigating Epstein’s associates regardless of political affiliation, noting a shared public demand for transparency.
"I think that that is the level of frustration that so many people are bringing whether you're a Democrat, Republican, or Independent specifically to the Epstein file situation," Crockett said following the hearing.
Maxwell appeared via video from the federal prison camp in Texas where she is serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking. She is currently seeking to overturn her conviction, arguing she was wrongfully found guilty.
