The Laredo Police Department said one person was killed in the crash that occurred at Loop 20 shortly before 10pm, prompting several agencies to respond.
Six people were traveling aboard the aircraft, Officer Jose Baeza said, one of whom died in the crash. No detail about the victims had been released as of midnight on Wednesday.
Footage captured by Zayra Garza showed emergency responders and civilians rushing to help survivors from the burning plane. A number can be seen getting the door open and leaving the plane after attempts to smash the windows fail.
