Footage recorded by Christie Ray of Queen Bee Supply shows emergency crews and local beekeepers in protective suits working to recover the colonies amid dense swarms.
Ray said Orange County ESD contacted her to provide bee suits for first responders.
KFDM reported that up to two million bees were being transported when the truck crashed into a ditch in Mauriceville, prompting officials to urge residents near Colony Drive to remain indoors.
