45:49Now PlayingIn 2018, Renee Hodges published the memoir Saving Bobby: Heroes and Heroin in One Small Community, as a therapeutic way to document her experience caring for her adult nephew Bobby through his battle with opioid addiction.
Renee and her husband opened their doors to Bobby and aided his recovery journey, as he fought to rebuild the tattered pieces of his life that had been torn apart by addiction. In her memoir, Renee articulates the debilitating effects the opioid epidemic has on society and how we can all be a pillar of support and kindness to the "Bobbys" we encounter in our lives.
