Since Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine began, the Russian president has signed laws that crack down on protest in his country. Sasha, an artist and graphic novelist, would be caught up in that crackdown after publicly posting stickers critical of the Ukraine war. “I see the future as very uncertain. Sasha's arrest has changed both of our lives,” says Sasha’s girlfriend, Sonia. “I don't know what's going to happen next.” A story of love, war, politics and art, this FRONTLINE Short Doc is told through footage of Sasha’s court case, interviews with Sonia, and animation based on Sasha’s art.
