My Psychology Today article wherein I summarized the study that tested the "Damaged Goods" hypothesis
NY Post article filed by the reporter in question
Addendum: I wrote to the reporter who interviewed me to ask whether she had taped our chat (to establish/double check the veracity of her quotes). My perfectionism is limitless. She seemed to take offence at my question and insisted that she had quoted me "exactly word for word" (I don't believe so; a more likely scenario is that she may have paraphrased my words/gist and then reported these as quotes). I responded politely and have since put the matter to bed (ultimately the quotes are very innocuous). Given the substantive issues that I discussed with the reporter, the quotes in question seem very minor and frankly I do not recall uttering those specific words notwithstanding her instance that she had quoted me verbatim. Time to move on but it would indeed be good practice to always tape my chats with the media.
