6 Coloradoans have brought a petition seeking to have the Court direct Colorado's Secretary Of State to remove Trump from the ballot for the 2024 election. They allege that the U.S. Constitution Am. 14, Section 3 bars any person who "engaged in insurrection" from holding office as President of the United States. They further claim, that Trump's role in the siege of the Capitol on January 6, qualifies as "engaging in insurrection" and disqualifies him from running for office.
STATUS UPDATE:
Three attendees on Jan 6 testified this morning and testified as to the normalcy of the rally atmosphere rally not a planned insurrection.
