All throughout the New Testament this idea can be found, and what we're left with is the knowledge that a life well-lived is marked by a mindset of "you first not me." Dying to yourself means that you're putting the needs of others above your own selfish desires. Dying to yourself means that you live as a new creation, putting off your old self. It is in dying to yourself that we find the abundant life that Jesus set out for us, a life of purpose, passion, and meaning that is more fulfilling than anything else.
