YouTube Description
as posted by the channelThere is perhaps no greater asset someone can have than a secure sense of value. It is out of our striving for a sense that we are enough, that we matter, that we have value that we run in circles and constantly try to do more and be better just to feel like we are enough. We spend day after day and year after year trying to convince ourselves and others that we are worthy of love, and that we are enough. Yet for many of us, this hunger proves to be insatiable. No matter how hard we try, we never feel like we're quite good enough. It's no wonder that insecurity seems to be pervasive in our society because we're constantly trying to find our value in things that were never meant to hold that weight. The only source of value that will ever satisfy our souls is found in the unconditional love of God for us. It is only in the love of a perfectly heavenly Father that we can find what we've always been searching for: the true knowledge that we are ok, that we are worthy of love just as we are, that we matter, that we are enough. When we have found our sense of security, our sense of value, we no longer need to live our lives searching for the approval of others, and for the first time we can focus on simply being who we were created to be and doing what we were created to do.
About Rough Draft Poems:
Rough draft poems is a series dedicated to putting out poems that aren't perfect, but they are honest and raw. They're rough drafts, just like you and just like me. While they may not all be autobiographical, they are all deeply felt.
About me:
Hey! My name is Austin, and I'm a 20 year old guy with a passion for people. I believe the good news is that God is better than we could've ever hoped, and I love sharing this message of grace and love with anyone that will listen. I'm the former Digital Marketing and Video Production Coordinator at a large, evangelical church in Frederick, MD, and I'm currently a student at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL. When I'm not writing papers or making YouTube videos, I do freelance work as a Wedding Photographer/Videographer and social media consultant. On any given day you can find me with my nose in a book or a guitar in my hands. Want to get to know me more? Follow me and say hi on Instagram at: @austin.suggs
