But this couldn't be further from the truth. The medieval period is home to some of the greatest Christian literature of all time, and in this video, I offer an easy entry point to medieval theology if you're brand new: Spiritual Friendship by St. Aelred of Rievaulx.
While it's far from the most famous or most influential, it's an exceedingly accessible and practical place to start. Read it, and you won't be disappointed. Furthermore, it's something that people from across the Christian tradition can embrace.
