Recently, Cameron Bertuzzi from the channel @CapturingChristianity made a video giving nine reasons why he thinks Sola Scriptura is false. In this video, I respond to those reasons. In so doing, I continually return to three important questions:
1. What is sola scriptura?
2. What is the purpose of sola scriptura?
3. What is the nature of sola scriptura?
It is my contention that understanding how to answer these three questions can help Protestants defend sola scriptura much better.
Now, don't let the red "REBUTTED" thumbnail fool you. This isn't some knock down argument. Rather, it's simply a thoughtful engagement with the arguments that Cameron puts forth, attempting to show how a Protestant might respond.
My goal isn't to say his arguments are silly or clearly false. Instead, it's to help find the real points of disagreements between Protestants and Catholics, which are often smaller than we'd assume.
