Traditionally speaking, there are three pillars of the Christian spiritual life: prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. However, one of those is conspicuously absent in much of modern, Western Christianity: fasting.

In this video, I'm exploring the history and theology of fasting to try to understand why it's gone so out of fashion and why we might want to reverse that trend. Along the way, we look at the Old Testament, New Testament, Early Church, and Reformers to get a better sense of how we've gotten here.
