Senior BRS leader K. T. Rama Rao strongly criticized Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy over the ongoing Musi River development project in Hyderabad. The comments came during a political discussion about the government’s plans to redevelop areas along the Musi River.
KTR alleged that the project could lead to the demolition of houses and displacement of many poor families living along the riverbanks. He questioned the intentions of the government and accused it of focusing more on land and real-estate interests rather than the welfare of affected residents. Responding to the criticism, the Telangana government led by Revanth Reddy has defended the Musi River project, stating that the initiative is important for environmental protection, flood control, and the long-term development of Hyderabad. The government also says proper rehabilitation and support will be provided to those affected by the project.
