Alex Wagnerâs MSNBC debut racked up 2 million total viewers on Tuesday night, thumping CNNâs 9 p.m. show but still falling short of surpassing Fox Newsâ Sean Hannity.
The new primetime host Wagner, who is Rachel Maddowâs four-day-a-week replacement, also reeled in about 183,000 viewers in the key cable news 25-54 demographic.
Thatâs compared to âCNN Tonight,â which drew a total viewers of about 866,000 and 176,000 in the key demo, according to Nielsen ratings data.
