The Tamieka Goode squatting case in Maryland highlights growing legal and enforcement gaps surrounding vacant and foreclosed homes. Goode and another individual allegedly occupied a $2.3 million Bethesda home for months after it went into foreclosure and ownership transferred to a bank. Neighbors repeatedly complained, saying the occupants had no lease, no permission, and were openly living in the property while filming social media content from inside the home.
