⭐ Wooden American Star:
The upcoming Karmelo Anthony trial is shaping up to be one of the most closely watched criminal cases in Texas. Anthony faces a first-degree murder charge in the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf during a high school track meet in Frisco. Prosecutors argue this was an intentional killing, while the defense is preparing to argue self-defense, claiming the confrontation escalated physically before the stabbing occurred.
The trial is currently set for June 1, 2026, in Collin County, and the judge has already imposed strict courtroom security measures due to intense public attention, threats, and national media coverage. Cameras have been restricted, security has been increased, and courtroom access will be tightly controlled.
Anthony was originally held on a $1 million bond before it was reduced to $250,000, allowing his release under strict conditions including house arrest, GPS monitoring, and no contact with the victim’s family. His lead defense attorney, Mike Howard, is expected to center the case around Texas self-defense law, while prosecutors will push for a first-degree murder conviction that could carry decades in prison.
Possible outcomes range from a full murder conviction to a lesser charge like manslaughter, a complete acquittal if self-defense is accepted, or even a hung jury that forces a retrial.
