as posted by the channelA suspect has been arrested! 59-year-old Rex Heuermann was arrested on July 13th, 2023 in Massapaque, NY and is charged with 3 victim's murders so far.
The Long Island serial killer (LISK), also known as THE GILGO BEACH KILLER and THE CRAIGSLIST RIPPER is an unidentified suspected serial killer who has murdered between 10 and 16 people over 20 years, with the remains of their victims found between 2010 and 2011 after the search for Shannan Gilbert began.
Shannan's 911 call on May 1st, 2010 launched an investigation into her disappearance and helped police to discover the grounds where many bodies had been discarded of, undiscovered, mostly in burlap sacks. "The Gilgo Four" were the first to be discovered, all found within a quarter of a mile of one another near Gilgo beach in 2010. Shannan's body was discovered a year after these four bodies were- the police have stated that her death was an accident and is unrelated to the case, but a private autopsy found that there were signs of strangulation.
