Case Background: On April 9th, 2018, Border Patrol Supervisor Ronald Anthony Burgos-Aviles made a 911 call at 11:20 AM to report finding the remains of a woman and child in Father Charles McNaboe Park, northwest Laredo, Texas, while he was on duty and in uniform. Within one hour, he was the primary suspect and taken into custody. Aviles was charged with 2 counts of first-degree murder for victims Grizelda Hernandez and their son Dominic Hernandez. He was found guilty of all charges and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
