Case background: Harmony Montgomery was born on June 7th, 2014. In 2018, her mother lost custody of her as she struggled with substance abuse, so her father, Adam Montgomery got legal custody of her. She was last seen in October 2019 in Manchester when she was 5 years old, but was only reported missing in December 2021. It is alleged that her father murdered her on December 7th, 2019 and that he got rid of her body (which has sadly never been found). In January 2022, Adam was arrested and charged with 2nd degree assault, interference with custody, and two charges of endangering the welfare of a child. His ex-wife, Kayla Montgomery, was arrested in January 2022 as well and was charged with welfare fraud. In April 2022, Adam was arrested and charged with firearm theft and in October 2022, he was charged with 2nd degree murder.
On June 8th, 2023, Adam Montgomery was found guilty on weapons charges, which was a separate trial, for which he was sentenced to more than 60 years in prison. On February 6th, 2024, Adam Montgomery will be on trial for the murder of his daughter, Harmony, which is expected to last about a month.
