5:52:20Now PlayingA former Idaho State Trooper, Daniel Howard, 57, is on trial for the murder of his wife, Kendy Howard, 48, on February 2nd, 2021. He called police and told them that his wife had shot herself, but investigators had probable cause to believe that she was murdered. In April 2023, he turned himself in after an arrest warrant was issued, where he was charged with murder and domestic battery. Kendy left behind two children and a granddaughter and is greatly missed by her loved ones.
Daniel Howard resigned from the Idaho State Police in November 2014 due to his conduct: he had allegedly committed several crimes across multiple counties. In 2013, it is alleged that he had threatened to kill his friend after finding out that he was having an affair with his wife, and reportedly poured syrup into his friend's vehicle, shot at his house with a firearm and left threatening messages. He also allegedly stole thousands of rounds of ammunition from Idaho State Police and used a fake name on an application for a motorcycle.
