Mica Miller's body was discovered on April 27th, 2024 in the Lumber River State Park by a kayaker, who had heard a gunshot. The Robeson County Sheriff's Office released a full investigative timeline, and stated that the medical examiner ruled Mica's death as self-inflicted. I called the Sheriff's Office today to clarify if the FBI are investigating Mica's death, or the allegations and circumstances leading up to her death. Following a FOIA request, I was able to obtain the 911 call from the person who found Mica's body, the video surveillance footage from Dick's Pawn Shop and the gas station that Mica visited, and have yet to discuss the detailed timeline from the police with you (31 page PDF). Let's discuss where the case stands today.

"The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office has been in contact with the United States Attorney’s Office and Federal Bureau of Investigation in South Carolina since the early stages of the Mica Miller investigation. Based on the information gathered during the investigation and jurisdiction reasons, the Sheriff’s Office has requested the assistance of both agencies.

The request by the Sheriff’s Office is not related to the cause of death of Mica Miller. Mica Miller's death remains to be declared as a su*c*de.

No other information will be released at this time.

Anyone with information pertaining Miller investigation in South Carolina is asked to contact the Columbia, SC FBI Office at 803-551-4200."
